Tim Reed is a Managing Principal and the Physician Workforce Practice Valuations Practice Leader at Sullivan, Cotter and Associates, Inc. With over 40 years of experience, Tim is a certified public accountant accredited in business valuation. He has extensive experience in evaluating and valuing all types of health care entities, including physician practices, ambulatory surgery centers, imaging centers, specialty hospitals, dialysis centers, etc. He also leads projects to analyze and design physician compensation models.
Tim’s experience includes:
- Serving as an independent expert who focuses on the entire transaction to determine fair market value and create mutual benefit for both parties in the transaction.
- Developing strategic business plans that ensure acquisition and smooth transition of specialized physician talent that is in high demand.
- Creating physician compensation plans designed to hold physicians accountable for clinical outcomes, as well as for their contributions to the strategic success of the whole organization.
- Working with clients, when difficult physician compensation issues arise, to develop creative solutions that help retain critical talent.
Formerly, Tim was a partner in the health care consulting division of a regional accounting firm. In 2011, he led the transition of that division to SullivanCotter and established the Pittsburgh office.
Tim holds active memberships in the American and Pennsylvania institutes of CPAs. He is also a certified valuation analyst accredited by the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. In addition, he speaks on valuation and other related topics of interest to a variety of audiences.
Tim earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration from West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, West Virginia.
