Director of Research and Information
Maureen Cotter is the Director of Research and Information for Sullivan, Cotter and Associates, Inc. and is based in the Atlanta office. With more than 30 years of expertise within consulting and business leadership, Maureen possesses an in-depth understanding of today’s rapidly evolving health landscape. Having specialized in financial analysis and development of benefits designs at health systems and hospitals, she brings an invaluable perspective to the benchmarking needs to support both short- and long-term business objectives of health care organizations.
Prior to joining SullivanCotter, Maureen held a variety of leadership positions within consulting and private sector companies, most notably serving as Global Director of Group and Health Care Consulting for a major human resources consulting firm and as Senior Director of Health and Welfare Benefits Consulting at a firm specializing in human resources technology and benefits.
In her current position, Maureen leads the research function to provide clients and industry partners with valuable information on emerging trends and issues in compensation and benefits for the health care industry. She works with client advisory boards to align the Firm’s research agenda with client needs and leverages technology to create a better user experience for participants in SullivanCotter’s industry-leading surveys. Maureen also leads the marketing function to promote awareness of the Firm’s emerging services and expanding geographic footprint as well as to strengthen relationships with industry partners.
As a nationally recognized health care strategist, Maureen is a frequent contributor, author and speaker on the topics of health care, finance and benefits trends. She is one of the founding directors of the National Business Group on Health’s Institute on Health Care Costs and Solutions and is active in The Healthcare Roundtable.
Maureen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from the University of Michigan and is an associate of the Society of Actuaries. In 2002, Maureen was named one of the top 35 rising stars in the insurance and consulting industry by Business Insurance, in celebration of their 35th anniversary.
